Dubai, agency. UAE Minister of Finance and Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Rashid Al Maktoum (Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum) has died. He was 75 years old. His brother and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Rashid gave this information on Wednesday. Hamdan served as deputy ruler of Dubai under his brother. Emirati officials have informed that for the past few months, Sheikh Hamdan was not feeling well. He was also ill for a long time. Due to this, he also went abroad for a surgery. At that time, his brother Sheikh Mohammed made a tweet praying for his well being.  


Family members involved in the final funeral due to Corona

Meanwhile, the Dubai government's media has informed that only family members will attend Hamdan's funeral. Government media states that this is being done in the wake of the corona epidemic. There will be three days of mourning as well. Due to this, the government offices will remain closed for three days. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi has expressed grief over the demise of Sheikh Hamdan. He said that today we have lost one of the most loyal people of the UAE, who showed his patriotism throughout his life.

Sheikh Hamdan was born on 25 December 1949. He was the son of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. When the first cabinet of the UAE was formed in the year 1971, Sheikh Hamdan was made the Finance Minister. He has held this position till his death. While in this position, Hamdan attracted large amount of investment from abroad to the country. Efficient management of the country's oil wealth. He transformed Dubai into a regional financial hub. This was his major contribution. Hamdan led Emirati representatives to the International Monetary Fund for International Development and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
